While some short stage races are being held in Europe and the Middle East, national titles are being awarded in other latitudes. Here's a brief roundup of results
SOUTH AFRICA - Alan Hatherly, 28-year-old from Jayco AlUla, was crowned national time trial champion, covering 41 kilometers in 47 minutes and 50 seconds. Second place went to Stefan de Bod (Terengganu Cycling), who was 24" behind, and third place to Brandon Downes, who finished 1'35" from the winner.
COLOMBIA. The women's title goes to Juliana Londono of Team Picnic PostNL, who sprinted ahead of Diana Penuela and Paula Patiño from Movistar.
NAMIBIA. The men's time trial title was won by Alex Miller, who beat Martin Freyer and Danzel De Koe. Among women, Anri Greeff won ahead of Louise Breed and Jean-Marie Mostert.
NEW ZEALAND - Kim Cadzow doubles up. The 23-year-old from EF Education-Oatly, who yesterday won the national time trial title, today became the New Zealand road champion by crossing the Timarau finish line solo. Niamh Fisher-Black from Lidl Trek finished 24" behind the winner, with the podium completed by Kate McCarthy from the local Hamilton City Cycling Club. Ella Wyllie, the outgoing New Zealand champion, finished fourth.
