
With a deadly burst of energy in the final centimeters, Matteo Moschetti wins the first stage of the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas, the 140-kilometer Patra-Agrinio route. An incredible sprint by the Milan native from Robecco sul Naviglio, born in 1996 and riding for the Swiss Q36.5 Pro Cycling team, burns Dutch champion Dylan Groenewegen (Team Jayco AlUla) and Russian Gleb Syritsa from XDS Astana Team at the finish line. For Moschetti, this is his third victory of the season after the fifth stage of the AlUla Tour and the Grand Prix Criquelion in Belgium.
Regarding the race, the breakaway that most characterized the first day featured Austrian Poschacher (Hrinkow Advarics), Polish rider Czabok (Mazowsze Serce Polski), Dutch cyclist Vries (Parkhotel Valkenburg), Belgian De Keyser (Tarteletto Isorex), and British rider Radcliffe (XSpeed United), who were caught by the group led by XDS Astana five kilometers from the finish.
