This year, Andrea Panconi and his collaborators have assembled an elite and under 23 team, ready for their seasonal debut next Saturday in the 38th Firenze-Empoli, a national classic with over 180 registered athletes. It's the Unione Ciclistica Pistoiese-Arcadia Cycling Team, which, despite growing difficulties in forming the team, renews a historic tradition in the cycling world with a squad of ten riders, aiming to help young athletes grow both sportively and personally. The team, wearing the traditional orange jersey, will participate in a rich calendar of regional, national, and international races, with the goal of achieving some good results. "We have worked hard to build a young and determined team" - says president Andrea Panconi - "our objective is to obtain results, but above all to help these young people grow both as cyclists and as individuals". Leading the Pistoiese Arcadia Cycling Team will be sports directors Stefano Bigozzi, who boasts considerable experience at various levels, and Emanuele Scardigli, with the collaboration of Ilenia Bigozzi. After Saturday's opening race, U.C. Pistoiese Arcadia Calcestruzzi will be engaged on Sunday afternoon on the circuit at Torre di Fucecchio.
