The Ghisallo Cycling Museum reopens on the first of March and announces - beyond the reopening event with Bugno and Chiappucci, a focus day on women's cycling, set on International Women's Day, March 8th, with the presence of multiple-titled Nicole Cooke (she won everything: World Championship, Olympic Games, Giro, line classics...). Just yesterday, while the Museo del Ghisallo Foundation staff, led by president Antonio Molteni and director Carola Gentilini, was working on the final touches for the museum's reopening, the British champion Nicole Cooke came to bring some emotional memorabilia in preparation for the March 8th event.
The Museum reopens for its 2025 season on the first of March, and the world champion has announced her availability to be at the center of a public event on the iconic date of March 8th, Women's Day. For the occasion, enthusiasts will find precious memorabilia at the museum that tell some stages of Nicole Cooke's incredible competitive career, particularly her world road champion jersey, won in Varese in 2008; the pink jersey from her 2004 Giro d'Italia victory and the bicycle used during the 2004 Giro.
The program for the day with Nicole Cooke at the Museum - March 8th - also includes a talk with journalists and sports guests to explore key themes of women's cycling and gender sports, but most importantly, in agreement with the Madonna del Ghisallo Cycling Museum Foundation in Magreglio, the "Cooke Day" will be dedicated to the memory of Italian athlete Sara Piffer, tragically lost in an absurd accident while training on her roads in Trentino, to raise awareness about road safety, a fundamental theme for the cycling world and beyond.
The Museum officially reopens on March 1st, 2025, and for the occasion, two symbols of the most beautiful cycling rivalry have confirmed their participation: Gianni Bugno and Claudio Chiappucci, who will be further narrated by the voice of the journalist and historical cycling chronicler par excellence, Beppe Conti, who will present his book about the men of great cycling feats (Legendary Cycling Feats, Graphot ED).
