Next May will once again be the scenario for the two-wheeled season that will see the International Porto Circuit Arvedi Trophy among the most prestigious world-class events. In the sporting spring that blossoms, the race organized by the Cremonese Cycling Club 1891 Arvedi Group, now in its fifty-eighth edition, will take place on the Cremona roads on Sunday, May 18th.
A slight postponement compared to the traditional timing at the beginning of the month, but which does not affect the organizational and sporting aspects of the event. "We have been working for months to set up a race that - as Rossano Grazioli, president of the Cremonese Cycling Club 1891 Arvedi Group, pointed out - in recent years has established itself in the attention of the public and insiders as a prestigious appointment in the first part of the season. This is confirmed by the numerous participation requests that have reached our secretariat, from Italy and especially from abroad. This year, we also expect a prestigious participation and a great day of sport".
The Torrazzo race, which benefits from the patronage of the municipal administration of the city of Cremona, with Mayor Leonardo Virgilio at the helm, and can count on the support of numerous local sports organizations and equally passionate cycling volunteers, will retrace the tried-and-tested circuit formula that revolves around the city center and the Po riverbank, this year exceptionally revised for the meeting location, start, and finish, placed in Via Acquaviva. "From a technical point of view - illustrated Antonio Pegoiani, race director of the Porto Circuit - a slightly revised circuit of just under ten kilometers will be proposed, which the athletes will repeat eighteen times for just under one hundred and eighty kilometers to pedal". By the end of the afternoon on two wheels, the finish line that in most previous editions has smiled upon and favored talented and skilled sprinters. "With our secretariat, we have been active since last winter and these days we are finalizing the last details regarding the participation of teams and athletes - Pegoiani specified - and we can anticipate that for 2025 we will have many teams coming to Cremona from abroad, the now consolidated prevalence in recent years of continental and development teams from major series, and some of the best under-23 riders of world-class caliber". From a logistical point of view, finally, the Arvedi Commercio headquarters in Via Acquaviva will host the caravan, professionals, and enthusiasts from the morning and throughout the day on Sunday, May 18th.
