The valorization of history and great protagonists of cycling is one of the pillars of the Professional Cycling League's activity. A philosophy that has translated into concrete actions during the recent Tour of the Alps, valid as a stage of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni (1st and 3rd stage). On the occasion of the first stage in San Lorenzo Dorsino, President Roberto Pella wanted to pay homage to the value and charisma of past champions, inviting some icons of Italian cycling to the stage for the awards: Davide Cassani, Francesco Moser, and Maurizio Fondriest.
Today, in line with this vision, another great name in our sport will take the stage in San Candido: Stefano Garzelli, winner of the 2000 Giro d'Italia and now an authoritative RAI voice loved by enthusiasts.
And that's not all. The League is already working to continue this path of valorization in upcoming races, starting with the Giro d'Italia, where special initiatives featuring past and present champions will not be lacking. "Cycling is a great family, and each generation has something to tell and transmit," explains President Pella.
