Positive news comes from the University Hospital in Ghent, where Elisa Longo Borghini had been hospitalized and kept under observation since last night following her heavy crash during the Ronde van Vlaanderen.
The captain of UAE Team ADQ has been discharged from the hospital this afternoon. Her condition is stable, although the concussion will now require several days of rest and she will be able to return home in Italy in a few days.
The doctors have prescribed Elisa a week of complete rest. After seven days, she will be able to gradually resume training. Her progress will be carefully monitored, allowing for clearer assessments of her recovery timeline and return to racing.
Obviously, this stop will have serious consequences on the Italian champion's calendar, which will see the spring classics compromised, and at this point, once she is back at her best, she will focus on the grand tours.
