An uncertain and spectacular edition of the 24th Gran Premio Colli Marignanesi, a race valid for the IOscar tuttoBICI Gran Premio UAE Emirates, crowned Venetian Tommaso Marchi (Borgo Molino Vigna Fiorita), author of a masterful sprint. The official start of the race, in a warm and passionate public setting, was given by Giulia Polesello and Victoria Sassolini, athletes from Consolini Volley, winners of the A2 championship and newly promoted to A1, together with Junior National Coach Edoardo Salvoldi.
THE RACE. With the checkered flag lowered by San Giovanni in Marignano's Mayor Michela Bertuccioli, 172 athletes representing 10 Regions set off. The race, which was contested over 100 km through the splendid Marignanese hills, remained largely compact, with some initial skirmishes but without any attempt truly making a difference. Everything changed on the last lap, when after a brief neutralization, the battle ignited: Alessandro Battistoni (Fior di Grano) attacked and managed to gain 40 seconds on the group, with Vinnie Manion (Team Work Service) launching in pursuit. However, it was the symbolic climb of the GP Colli Marignanesi, the feared Muro di Isola di Brescia, that changed the cards again. Right there, where the gradients exceed 15%, a seven-rider attack was born that set the race on fire: Fabio Segatta (U.S. Montecorona), Mattia Proietti Gagliardoni (Team Franco Ballerini), Vincenzo Carosi (Work Service Coratti), Riccardo Del Cucina (Casano Stabbia), Matteo Luci (Pol. Monsummanese) and Samuele Monti (Italia Nuova Borgo Panigale) managed to force the pace and gain precious seconds. Their attempt kept the race alive until the final kilometers, when the group gradually came back together. In the final sprint, Tommaso Marchi of Borgo Molino Vigna Fiorita emerged with a masterful sprint, crossing the finish line with arms raised and marking his third seasonal success, ahead of Tuscan Giulio Pavi degl'Innocenti (Team Vangi Il Pirata), while regional Tuscan champion Riccardo Del Cucina (Casano-Stabbia) took the third step of the podium. The Rimini provincial title was won by Lorenzo Gabellini (Team General System).
Massimo and Ivan Cecchini and Giorgio Gobbi, organizational directors for Velo Club Cattolica, were extremely satisfied: "It was a pleasure and, above all, an honor to have the best of national cycling at the start: today in San Giovanni in Marignano, the strongest athletes battled, who in the near future we will see as protagonists on the most prestigious stages. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this possible, San Giovanni in Marignano lived another beautiful day of sport, now we can only look forward to the 2026 edition".
