Another confirmation comes from Great Britain of the difficult moment being experienced by the Ineos giant. The Times, in fact, writes that Sir Jim Ratcliffe's company is amicably negotiating the termination of the advertising contract with the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, signed in 2022. Ineos had stipulated a five-year agreement with the Spurs to advertise its Grenadier car, with team players appearing in the vehicle's commercials and promotional videos.
Last week, Ineos, which is primarily a petrochemical company, blamed the "deindustrialization of Europe" and its impact on the sector for breaking its contract with the All Blacks.
At the same time, spending has been reduced for the Ineos Grenadiers cycling team (which still started the season on the right foot), which is actively seeking a new sponsorship that will likely lead to a name change. The partnership with Sir Ben Ainslie's America's Cup team has also been terminated, another painful separation, and the Ineos logo is significantly less prominent on the Mercedes team's livery for the 2025 season, although Ineos owns a 33 percent stake in Mercedes. All this while the financial difficulties of Manchester United (of which Ratcliffe owns a majority stake with 28.94 percent) continue, leading tohundreds of job losses at Old Trafford and reported financial losses in the hundreds of millions.
