Marie Schreiber beats the Dutch colony in the World Cup. Great success for the Luxembourg rider from Team SD Worx Protime in Hulst, Netherlands, in the elite women's Cup race. The 21-year-old from Bettborn, a village in the municipality of Préizerdaul, in Western Luxembourg, rode a perfect race, attacking from the first of the six scheduled laps. Once in the lead, Schreiber skillfully managed her advantage over pursuers Brand and Pieterse, who in the meantime had distanced themselves from Worst, Backstedt, Van Der Heijden, Bentveld, Vas, and Alvarado, the latter struggling with some issues. Thus, Schreiber, in her first World Cup victory, triumphs ahead of Lucinda Brand and Puck Pieterse. Sara Casasola retired.
