The appointment with great cycling in Rome is renewed in 2025: around the April 25 holiday and the Terme di Caracalla area, the 78th edition of the Gran Premio della Liberazione will take place, the fifth under the aegis of Terenzi Sport Eventi. As is now customary, there will be multiple events within the event, which will attract athletes of all ages and simple enthusiasts.
Not the entire program can be revealed yet, and there will be more news later. For sure, on Thursday April 24, it will be the Juniors' turn: this year, a true Lazio rider like Santiago Ferraro won (who in the meantime has turned professional with VF Bardiani Csf Faizanè) while for 2025, a sell-out is already expected with an unprecedented participation of foreign teams, testifying to the constant growth of the GP Liberazione's prestige.
Prestige that will be expressed most fully on Friday 25th. First, the international women's race, which this year saw Chiara Consonni conquer the first victory of a season that then culminated with the Olympic track gold in the Paris' Madison. In 2025, the UAE team is ready to return to defend the title.
Afterwards, a moment much loved by the public: Bike 4 Fun, the "Donation Ride" in collaboration with ANED (National Association of Dialysis and Transplant Patients) and AIDO (Italian Association for Organ, Tissue and Cell Donation) open to anyone who wants to take a bike ride in the heart of the Eternal City with a charitable purpose.
Finally, the "queen race" of Liberazione: the Under 23 men's race (category 1.2U), a direct descendant of a tradition that began in 1946, a launching pad for the highest cycling categories. Its roll of honor includes a future champion like Gianni Bugno, and on its podium have stood calibers like Moser and Cipollini. After all, whoever manages to tame such an indecipherable course, with continuous short climbs and extremely tight curves, is not a winner by chance!
