The pain of losing a great friend, a brother, and then the head starting to spin with a heartbeat becoming increasingly feeble and slow. Providential was the intervention of Alessandro, his son, who understands that there's no time to waste and accompanies Paolo Guerciotti to the emergency room. All's well that ends well: Paolo Guerciotti is fine, he's home and now must only focus on recovering from a loss that is difficult to fill and a surgery he was forced to undergo.
Wednesday at 5:30 AM he had left from Malpensa for Puglia. Waking up at 4, arriving at 9. He manages to see Vito, to give a caress to his dear Vito. The stress is significant, the emotion infinite. Then the funeral, a lunch with common friends like Giuseppe Calabrese, Lucio Dognini and Luca Bramati. At the end of lunch Paolo stands up, his face is cerulean, his head spinning, his strength at its minimum. Alessandro immediately understands something isn't right. No use, dad Paolo still wants to go to the airport, there's a return flight to absolutely take, but his strength is at rock bottom. Alessandro manages to convince him to go to the emergency room. He calls the ambulance: there's no time to lose. The medical staff understand immediately: red code. With urgency he is taken to cardiology and in the morning undergoes an operation where a "pacemaker" is applied.
Now Paolo Guerciotti, 75 years old, carried with vigor, has returned home and is well. "I experienced too many emotions, losing Vito was devastating for me, a hard blow and my heart suffered," he says to tuttobiciweb. "But now I'm fine, I just need to rest a bit, to stay calm and I thank the medical staff of San Paolo Hospital in Bari, which is an excellence in cardiology and were prompt and professional like few others. Thanks also to my son, who did not underestimate the situation." Good rest Paolo, take care.
