From May 30th to 31st Tour of
Estonia, an UCI Europe Tour class 2.1, takes place. More than one hundred elite
riders representing pro continental, continental as well as national teams will
compete on the two stages of the tour. The tour takes off in Tallinn,
the capital of Estonia, on the 30th of May with the 190 km long road
race. On the second stage, the cyclists will compete on Tartu GP – the attractive
city loop of 150 km (12x12,5 km) held in the historical university town Tartu. At the moment there are 14
teams registered to Tour of Estonia, including them also pro-continental teams
Rusvelo (RUS) and CCC Polsat Polkowice (POL). Among others, Estonians Gert
Jõeäär, the tour winner last year, as well as world-famous Rein Taaramäe and
Tanel Kangert have been signed up in the National Team Estonia as replacement
riders. Right after the Tour of
Estonia, on the 1st of June, the biggest popular road
race in the Eastern Europe will be held. All together more than 7500 riders are
expected to participate the SEB 33rd Tartu Rattaralli, among them
also 3500 children on the children races.
