The mayor and, by his side, representatives of local associations. San Pietro di Feletto is joining forces and preparing for the big day - Sunday, May 25th - when the Giro d'Italia will return to the Ca' del Poggio Wall for the eighth time, during the fifteenth stage, from Fiume Veneto to Asiago.
In recent days, at the municipal hall in San Pietro di Feletto, with Alberto Stocco from Ca' del Poggio present, local association representatives who will contribute to animating the festival day on the Wall gathered: the Pro Loco of San Pietro di Feletto, the Valcervano Sports Club of Bagnolo, Quarta de Otobre, Pro San Michele di Feletto, Friends of Antica Pieve, MotoProsecco, and the Bagnolo Youth Group.
Thanks to their commitment, the Giro d'Italia's passage on the Ca' del Poggio Wall will be accompanied by the hospitality of a Great Pink Festival, open to all enthusiasts, promising to renew the spectacle of the last rider crossings on the iconic ascent among the vineyards. A setting estimated at twenty thousand people both in 2022 and 2024.
While waiting for the stage's transit and throughout the day, the San Pietro di Feletto climb will be enriched with food and wine stands (churrasco and spit-roast), music from Radio Company DJs, the event's media partner, the sympathy of the mascot Poggy, great guests from the world of sports and entertainment, and exceptional testimonials. The Giro d'Italia Caravan is expected on the Wall at 11, with the stage passage occurring around 12:30. Access to the Wall will remain free, with ample parking at the base of the climb. A large screen with the stage's live broadcast is also planned.
"A great sense of civic duty and community unites, once again, the world of associations and volunteering," comments Mayor Cristiano Botteon. "The Giro d'Italia's passage represents a great opportunity for our territory and is the symbol of slow and respectful tourism. Our territory is beautiful but fragile, and occasions like this receive international resonance, just as happened with the sporting exchanges made in recent years."
The Giro d'Italia's passage on the Ca' del Poggio Wall will also be an opportunity for solidarity, with a fundraising effort for the Italian Progeria Association founded by Sammy Basso - with his parents present - and the Collagene VI Italia Aps association chaired by Giulia Da Re, who resides at the foot of the Wall, a group created by people suffering from degenerative neuromuscular diseases due to sixth collagen deficiency.
Exactly one year after the last time (it was May 25th, 2024), the great pink festival among the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is ready to be proposed again in the setting that can now be considered one of the most classic climbs of the Giro d'Italia.
The Ca' del Poggio Wall - the only climb officially certified by the Italian Cycling Federation, twinned since 2016 with the Muur van Geraardsbergen and since 2018 with the Mur-de-Bretagne, which in 2025 will host the finish of a Tour de France stage - has unique characteristics. It develops for just over a kilometer on a fully paved road, with an average gradient of 15% and peaks of 19%. It's a decisive, almost violent climb that in 2025 is again a candidate to be among the most spectacular and anticipated moments of the Giro d'Italia.
An authentic vertical spectacle (moreover at just 200 meters above sea level) that promises to recreate the magic of the twenty thousand and more fans who in recent editions have framed the passage of riders among the vineyards. A river of passion on the day of the Great Pink Festival.
