The tricolor of Tommaso Cingolani flies on the highest step of the Gp Rothoblaas-Trofeo Mak Costruzioni, the innovative race for Juniors organized by the Ciclistico Forti e Veloci Club on the Bolzano roads of Cortaccia on the Wine Road, with a morning line race followed by a short time trial in the afternoon, reserved for the top 25 classified in the opening stage. An event included in the rich program of the centenary season of the red-blue club chaired by Alessandro Groff, rewarded by the participation of 180 athletes representing 24 societies and six different regions, namely Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche, with a team also coming from Austria (the Rc Arbö Tom Tailor Wörgl).
Cingolani, Italian under-16 time trial champion, was one of the most anticipated athletes and did not disappoint expectations, primarily his own, legitimized by the prestigious jersey conquered in the past season. Already an excellent third in the morning race, the Marche rider from Senigallia, racing for Petrucci Zero24 Cycling Team, lined up the competition in the afternoon 5.4-kilometer time trial, covered in 6'31"95, at the remarkable average of 49.72 km/h. Behind him, in the final test, two of his teammates closed: Andrea Gabriele Alessiani (13"37 back) and Edoardo Fiorini (14"77 back), with the line race winner Lorenzo Luci (Gs Iperfinish) tenth at 25"01.
Cingolani thus prevailed in the final combined classification with 50 points, joined on the podium by the aforementioned Lorenzo Luci (second with 41 points) and another Petrucci Zero24 team rider Edoardo Fiorini (37).
The morning line race, which took place on an 8-kilometer circuit to be covered five times, was decided in a sprint and dominated by the Tuscan athletes of Gs Iperfinish, the team that more than others tried to animate the race. After attempting a breakaway in the central phases of the race with Edoardo Agnini, the team directed by former professional Francesco Casagrande perfectly organized its train for the group sprint: Luci, initially called to serve as the last man for Agnini, came out in an excellent position from the last curve and went on to take his first seasonal victory, with his teammate second, signing an Iperfinish double. Third and fourth were the two Marche riders from the Petrucci Zero24 Cycling Team, Tommaso Cingolani and Edoardo Fiorini, with Lorenzo Ceccarello from Ciclistica Monselice completing the top 5. Twelfth, first at the finish line among Trentino Alto Adige athletes, was the standard-bearer of the organizing society Giacomo Carlin, the best of the first-year category athletes in the order of arrival, then 19th in the time trial and 18th in the final standings.
