Lorena Wiebes was the big favorite and climbs to the top of the podium: she is the winner of the Sanremo Women presented by Crédit Agricole. "It's extremely important for women's cycling to have this race back on the calendar, and being its first winner is a great honor. Everything went according to plan, and I'm proud that the world champion sacrificed herself for me. It was a special day, finally I could experience what my colleagues feel when climbing iconic climbs like Cipressa and Poggio. This can be considered the most important victory of my career and I hope to be able to do it again in the future."
Marianne Vos, second place finisher, stated: "It was difficult to predict how the race would unfold. I'm happy with how the team worked, and how they brought me into a position to sprint for the victory. Lorena Wiebes is impressive in the sprint, I knew it would be difficult to beat her, so although with a bit of bitterness, I'm happy with second place. The Sanremo Women is a beautiful race, I'm glad I raced it."
Noemi Ruegg, third place finisher, said: "As a team we had this race as a goal, but the podium leaves me incredulous. Third place is equivalent to a victory, even if it's the first edition after a long time, for me this is a Monument classic. I thought Poggio and Cipressa would create more selection, but I felt very good. With the attacks at the end, the scenario was most favorable to me and I was able to take advantage of my condition to achieve this result".
