An exciting finale at the 23rd edition of the Bredene Koksijde Classic (1.Pro) took place on the roads of Belgium over a distance of 200 kilometers. Edward Theuns won ahead of Luke Lamperti and Nils Eekhoff after a breakaway of fifteen riders that the peloton absorbed 300 meters from the finish but could not prevent the frontrunners from contesting the victory.
The final sprint thus rewarded the Belgian Lidl Trek rider Theuns, who narrowly beat American Lamperti from Soudal Quick Step and Dutch rider Eekhoff from Team Picnic PostNL, recent winner of the Danilith Nokere-Koerse. A great performance by young Alessandro Romele (XDS Astana Team), who secured tenth place.
The race was a continuous series of breakaways and attacks, until Lamperti, Vangheluwe, Ghys, Braet, De Gendt, Vermeersch Florian, Theuns, Soderqvist, Eekhoff, Romele, Vernon, Segaert, Resell, Marsman, and Mikutis broke away from the peloton and continued until the finish line.
