He climbs onto the podium to celebrate his third victory at Tirreno-Adriatico in his career - the twentieth overall, the fourth in this early season, plus a team time trial - and when he descends Jonathan Milan has a huge smile: "We knew this finish and the final circuit well from having already faced it last year, we knew how to move and where we needed to be compactly at the front. The guys piloted me in the best possible way and I'm very proud to have finalized their work. We knew what we had to do today and we did it perfectly: I stayed covered during the last 2 km without losing positions and this is the result of great teamwork. Only at the last corner did I have a moment of fear because I entered it right on the limit, but then I managed to express myself at my best and win a great victory".
And further: "It was crucial for me to take the last corner in the very first positions: the victory I dedicate to the team which is like a second family to me. The Sanremo? I can only say that my condition is growing, then the team will decide the tactics. We'll definitely be very strong, with Mads we have a very strong leader".
The choices: "After the Olympics, I decided to do a couple of years without track, or at least without track races, since I'll return to work on it after Roubaix. Without the track, however, my peak speed has dropped... In winter we trained more on climbs, to try to be even more competitive. I think I've improved a bit in everything, I'm also mentally calmer. And if we do it all together we can go very far".
