The cycling world mourns a great friend: at the age of 91, Fausto Vighini has passed away. The Verona entrepreneur, who created AutoVighini in 1975 and whose business is now managed by his sons Andrea and Nicola and his grandchildren, never sought the spotlight, but he carved an important path in cycling: he was a true pioneer in image management and always asked his riders to honor the colors they wore both on and off the race.
Vighini has seen many champions grow in his team, starting with Davide Rebellin, who rode for the Verona team in 1990. And then, in a quick and certainly not exhaustive succession, Edoardo Affini, Riccardo Verìza, Filippo Zana, and Luca Mozzato, up to Alessio Magagnotti, Erazem Valjavec, Tommaso Anastasia, and others.
An entire life dedicated to youth cycling, with a passion that was passed on to his children and that in 2025 will see Autozai Contri once again committed to the junior category. A season to be faced with an additional motivation: to remember Fausto Vighini in the best possible way.
To Andrea and Nicola Vighini and their families, our editorial team sends their embrace and condolences.
