The city of Mirandola, in the province of Modena, will for the first time host the start of the 108th edition of the Giro dell'Emilia Granarolo and the 12th edition of the Giro dell'Emilia BCC Felsinea Women Elite, scheduled for October 4th. A choice that marks an important novelty in the history of the event and further enriches the bond between cycling and the Emilian territory.
The Giro dell'Emilia, one of the most prestigious classics in the international calendar, maintains its charm with the traditional finish on the spectacular San Luca climb in Bologna. This historic finish line has seen the triumph of some of the greatest champions in world cycling, both in the men's and women's races.
The 2025 edition thus marks a new chapter for both races, with Mirandola joining the locations that have hosted the start of these competitions, bringing with it its history and strong connection to sports. The details of the routes will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Adriano Amici, president of GS Emilia: "We are happy to bring the start of the Giro dell'Emilia to Mirandola; it is an important signal that demonstrates the desire to involve new realities and enhance a territory with a great passion for cycling. We thank the Fondazione della Cassa di Risparmio di Mirandola with its President Francesco Vincenzi, Raimondo Soragni, the Municipality of Mirandola, Mayor Letizia Budri and the entire administration, all the entities supporting this event whose contribution is fundamental to the realization of an event of this level. Thanks to the media coverage of these races, we will give great international visibility to the entire territory, bringing Mirandola and Emilia Romagna into the spotlight of great cycling."
