Etienne Grimod's (Team Biesse Carrera Premac) adventure in blue concludes with a solid sixth place at the Zolder (Belgium) European Track Championships. After narrowly missing bronze on Thursday in the Team Pursuit, where Italy finished fourth behind Switzerland, the 2005-born Valdostan talent competed yesterday in the Individual Pursuit, where he was one of two Italian riders alongside Renato Favero.
With a steadily improving performance, Grimod stopped the clock at 4 minutes 9 seconds 838, while Favero qualified for the bronze medal final, which he lost to British rider Michael Gill. The overall victory went to another British champion, Josh Charlton, who preceded Portuguese rider Ivo Manuel Alves Oliveira.
