The thirty-nine-year-old Eva Lechner has put behind her the series of international commitments from which she emerged with a smile. The Ale Cycling Team representative, facing the best exponents of world cyclocross, placed 45th in Hulst, Netherlands, improved in the Belgian races by entering the top thirty at Zonhoven with a 28th place and closing in 17th position at Mol. Just returned to Italy, the multi-champion concluded 10th at the Trofeo Città di San Fior in Castello Roganzuolo, Treviso.
"I was extremely tired in the Italian race after the trio of races in the Netherlands and Belgium," recounts the Bolzano native in her final season of her brilliant and long-lasting cyclocross career. "All things considered, the race that satisfied me the most was Zonhoven, where I started 70th and finished 28th: that day I felt the best sensations. Ultimately, by racing so much, my condition is improving and I feel better and better. Now I'm doing two more races close together in Italy with the aim of improving my form: in total, I'll have 6 races in 10 days, and it's a great workload ahead of the Italian Championship on January 12th in Faè di Oderzo. If some good results come, they would do wonders for my morale."
Eva Lechner will be at the start on Sunday, December 29th, at the 50th Trofeo Cartoveneta Apci-Top Class-5th Memorial Alberto Pizzolato in Scorzè near Venice. On Tuesday, December 31st, she will race in the 3rd Cross del Sile-Industrie Pm in Casale sul Sile, in the province of Treviso.
