During the UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum 2024 in Abu Dhabi, the provincial president of the Treviso Cycling Federation, Giorgio Dal Bò, received the UCI Bike Region Label from the hands of UCI President, David Lappartient. A prestigious recognition, strongly desired by the Treviso provincial committee, which rewards the work done by the team led by Daniela Isetti and Nicolò Valentini, together with the Flaminio Institute of Vittorio Veneto.
The submitted dossier collects a wide panorama of cycling events organized in the province at regional, national, and international levels, while highlighting the industrial, food and wine, landscape, tourism, and cultural excellence of the Marca Trevigiana. An award that emphasizes the passion of the Treviso province for the world of cycling and allows the Marca Trevigiana to enter the elite of 28 regions in the world that can boast such recognition. In Italy, before Treviso, the award had been attributed only to Val di Sole.
President Dal Bò, visibly emotional, stated: "I am proud to receive this recognition on behalf of the Province of Treviso, the result of great teamwork. It is a milestone achieved also thanks to the organization of the 2023 Gravel World Championship. I am proud to have extraordinary and ambitious people by my side who dedicate their time to cycling and who, like me, deeply love our province and this magnificent sport. Our next goal will be to invite President David Lappartient to experience some days in our enchanting places."
Cordiano Dagnoni, president of the Italian Cycling Federation, also expressed satisfaction: "It is a well-deserved award for a Province that lives and breathes cycling, a wonderful place to visit and experience. The work of the Treviso team is extraordinary, and President Dal Bò is an example of excellence recognized throughout the national territory."
