Italian Champion can't miss the most prestigious Italian cyclocross appointment of the season. Next Sunday Marco Aurelio Fontana is going to ride Roma 2014, 4th Romano Scotti Memorial, sixth and penultimate UCI World Cup stage. Fontana aims to repeat last year excellent performance, when he ended third behind Kevin Pauwels and Niels Albert, at that time World Champion, and to entertain cyclocross lovers that will enjoy the race in Capannelle Hippodrome or will follow it in front of a screen (Italian television is going to show the race on Raisport 2 from 5.00 pm, streaming available on www.raisport.rai.it).
Cannondale Factory Racing rider in the last weeks won in a row the national races of Fanzolo di Vedelago, Roncola di Treviolo, Lurago d'Erba, Treviso Le Bandie and now is ready for the most important challenge of its winter schedule. «Sunday I have to test myself in the unique World Cup in my home country and the only one I chose to race this year. It will be one of the very few occasions that I will have to confront with the best international cyclocross riders - explains Marco Aurelio, who devote his winter maily to prepare the upcoming mountain bike season. - The race trek has been renovated, now it's more technical and spectacular that in the past editions. As always I'm going to do my best to honor the event organizers, headed by Italian National Cyclocross Coach Fausto Scotti, Asd Romano Scotti president, and the people who are always by my side: family, team, sponsors and fans. I await you all in Rome or in front of the TV, for sure we will have some fun!».
