France offers emotions in all senses to the riders of the MBH Ballan Ballan CSB Colpack team, who have been protagonists with placements like Ambrosini, 9th in Landevant in a stage over 200 km, and Bagatin (11th in Lanvert), while yesterday (Stage 5 Erdeven-Guenroüt 164.1km) was a struggle to stay upright with a series of crashes that penalized the race, with Venetian Matteo Ambrosini, who was in 7th position in the general classification, losing it today due to the crash. The transalpine race, ending on May 1st, features several Elite riders and allows our more experienced cyclists to race and improve their fitness.
"We are doing well," - says Davide Martinelli, who is leading the team in Brittany - "Monday was a great performance by Ambrosini and, in general, the guys are gaining endurance for the Tour of Hungary. We are not a team suited to these routes, because we need more selection, but we are gaining a lot of rhythm and endurance. The crashes have penalized some, particularly Cretti and Valent, but we are evaluating the situation and remain optimistic." The athletes are racing in summer heat: yesterday's stage saw temperatures reaching 28°.
UPCOMING COMMITMENTS: Meanwhile, the lineups for the upcoming races have been defined. They return to Valpolicella, where Lorenzo Nespoli recently won the Palio del Recioto.
Specifically, they are going to Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella and the team will include: Oioli, Casalini, Takacs, Vas, Fiorin, Cipollini, and Chesini. The last two are recovering from a virus. The team will be led by Flavio Miozzo and Antonio Bevilacqua. On the 4th, they will go to Montalto, but the selected riders will be announced in the coming days.
