One race, a hundred races: for victory, for the leader's jersey, for the podium, to attack, to defend. The fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps, the 162 km Sillian-Obertilliach route, was truly thrilling. An exciting one-on-one battle for over 50 km, uphill and downhill, with Thymen Arensman ultimately victorious: the Ineos Grenadiers rider broke away with a truly exciting long-range attack, and equally impressive was the reaction of green jersey wearer Michael Storer, who didn't hesitate to launch a solo move to defend his leadership.
In the end, Arensman pulled off the classic double: stage victory and green jersey leadership, gained with an 11-second advantage over Storer. Derek Gee took second place for the day, with Storer in third. Then at 3'43" came Gall, Ciccone, and Caruso.
