The stage offers a succession of short climbs and descents as the race moves from one valley to another. There are eight more or less long and challenging climbs. There is practically no flat terrain. The route passes first through the finish line to tackle a 58 km circuit that remains very undulating. The last 3 km are all on a slight uphill until passing near the historic center. The race then slightly descends until 1200 m from the finish before climbing again with a left turn on a steep climb (9%) for a few hundred meters and continuing to the finish with gradients around 3%.
The standings are extremely tight, as is normal in these short stage races, and it will be interesting to see if anyone will have the courage to challenge the leader Zimmermann and try to take the Tour away from him.
