There are three mountain grand prix, but in reality, eight more or less long and challenging climbs can be counted on the race's Garibaldi. The first GPM is at Forca Caruso at km 44, followed by the Devil's Pass (Gioia Vecchio) at km 87 - a 14.5 km climb at 4.8% - and finally the climb leading to the Roccaraso Aremogna finish line, 18.1 km at 4.8% average gradient with the first 7 km and the last three being the most challenging.
Filippo Fiorelli, even though he appeared to be in excellent condition, will hardly maintain the leader's jersey in a race where climbers like Bennett, Meintjes, and Torres are expected to shine.
