Cycling has historically not only celebrated those who cross the finish line first, but also those who ignite the race, who try even when no one else dares. It is to the category of breakaway riders, of combative cyclists that the Tour of the Alps once again dedicates a special jersey this year. A recognition that, ahead of the 48th edition (April 21-25), is dressed in new energy thanks to the sponsorship of Bazr, an innovative app that combines online shopping and influencer marketing, allowing users to discover and purchase products during content creators' live streams.
There is the signature and style of Alé Cycling on the new Bazr 'Breakaway King' jersey, as well as on all other leader jerseys of the Tour of the Alps. The jersey presents an elegant black coloration with white and yellow details that recall Bazr's colors. The most courageous rider of the Tour of the Alps, the one who will have covered the most kilometers in a breakaway during the stage race, will be awarded daily on the podium at the end of the race.
In 2024, the special classification was won by Simon Pellaud. The Swiss rider came close to victory during the second stage finishing in Stans, won by another athlete who knows a thing or two about long-range breakaways, the Friulian Alessandro De Marchi. The Jayco-AlUla rider is one of the favorites to win the Bazr 'Breakaway King' jersey in this year's edition.
"We are proud to stand alongside the Tour of the Alps, an event that embodies the values of challenge, beauty, and connection with the territory. The special jersey dedicated to us represents a concrete symbol of our shared vision: celebrating dynamism, identity, and excellence. Together we pedal towards a future made of authentic stories and new perspectives," said Bazr Founder Simone Giacomini.
"It's nice to welcome an innovative platform like Bazr among the Premium Partners of the Tour of the Alps and as a sponsor of the combativity jersey, a recognition that is part of the history of our sport and allows us to celebrate those who set the race on fire from the first kilometers," commented Tour of the Alps General Manager Maurizio Evangelista. – "The partnership with Bazr is also a clear signal of how the increasingly structured collaboration with Infront is succeeding in creating synergies and opportunities for our event even outside the world of cycling and sports in general."
"The agreement with Bazr demonstrates how the Tour of the Alps is today a platform capable of attracting innovative brands that can speak to a young, dynamic, and digital audience. The value of this special jersey goes beyond the sporting aspect: it's a way to reward courage, creativity, and the desire to challenge oneself, values that we fully share as Infront. We are happy to accompany the Tour of the Alps on a path that unites tradition and new visions, making it increasingly attractive to forward-thinking realities," concludes Stefano Deantoni, Marketing Director of Infront Italy.
