The 2025 edition for the lagoon off-road cycling has started in the best possible way, with Sunday the 13th marking the debut in San Donà for the 5th Xc Basso Piave-City of San Donà Trophy. Two Venetian athletes dominated the race that inaugurated the Serenissima Seingim Trophy in the Open category: Federico Ceolin, an Elite from Portogruaro, representing Team Cingolani, and Gaia Santin, a Under from Jesolo, athlete of the Lee Cougan Banca Prealpi team. The races organized by UC Basso Piave under the direction of Enrico Bonivento were very beautiful and competitive, involving 300 competitors on the magnificent circuit drawn along the banks of the Piave.
Ceolin, with a time of 1 hour 15'16"64, preceded his teammate Alessandro Marlon Piccin and Treviso's Simone Segat from Cube Crazy; while the local favorite Gaia Santin, protagonist of a great race, performed better than her teammate Beatrice Fontana and Lombardy's Iris Rolfini.
Among the Juniors, victories were claimed by Treviso athletes Giovanni Peruch and Elisa Pontara, standard-bearers of Cube Crazy and Team Lee Cougan/Banca Prealpi. In the 1st and 2nd-year Cadets and Women categories, Francesco Rocco (Bibione Cycling), Alessio Borile (DP66 Giant), and Vittoria Girardi (Mtb Aquile) emerged victorious; while among the 1st and 2nd-year Beginners and Women, Marcello Davanzo (Club 2000), Edoardo Carraro (Cube Crazy), and Federica Quaglia (Bike Club 2000) claimed the top spots.
In the Master categories, victories were recorded by Paola Maniago (Sorgente Pradipozzo) among Women; Massimo Maestri (Red Bike) in the Elite category; Eros Brait (El Corridor) in M1; Filippo Carnio (Rainbown) in M2; Luca Vendetti (Spezzotto) in M3; Bryan Piotto (Bandiziol) in M4; Luca Carli (La Roccia) in M5; Fausto Pasquali in M6; Gianfranco Mariuzzo (Mtbsantamarinella) in M7; and Fabrizio Stefani (Scavezzon) in M8.
