Tudor Pro Cycling has officially received the wildcard for this year's Tour de France and Fabian Cancellara is the spokesperson for the entire Swiss team's joy: "It's a dream coming true for the team, a historic moment and a highlight in Tudor Pro Cycling's race calendar. The team can't wait to tackle its first Grande Boucle and will work to be at the start of the Grand Départ in Lille on July 5th with a bold, combative, and great enthusiasm - we won't be there just to participate. I have a long history with the Tour and I can't wait to return to the Grand Départ in my new role. I am very happy for the team, proud and excited".
Julian Alaphilippe, multiple stage winner and Tour veteran, adds: "It's super motivating to think about the Tour, and it's a personal challenge to return to the Tour, but even more so to be here with my new team. It's certainly a historic moment for Tudor Pro Cycling. The Tour de France route seems very challenging, as every year, with many opportunities for attackers. Every Tour stage requires a lot of concentration and motivation, but especially in the first week, I see some opportunities with several stages designed for athletes with my characteristics".
In turn, Marc Hirschi, stage winner at the 2020 Tour de France, shares his memories and dreams: "I have beautiful memories of the Tour: in 2020, being at the start of my first Tour de France was a dream. And now for me it's a dream to return. Going there and winning a stage would be the highlight of the year. The Tour is special and known even outside of cycling, everyone wants to be at the start".
Raphael Meyer, CEO of Tudor Pro Cycling, states that his team has worked hard and is ready for the Tour: "We are a ProTeam, but operating at WorldTour level has always been our goal. We have worked very hard on the team structure and we are convinced that both staff and cyclists are ready for our first participation in the Tour de France. The invitation marks an important and historic step in the young history of Tudor Pro Cycling and we can't wait to show ourselves at the Tour de France this summer".
