The first stage in line of the 60th Tirreno-Adriatico winds entirely through Tuscany and will take the peloton from Camaiore to Follonica for 192 kilometers. This is a non-challenging stage, with the first part completely flat and winding along the Tyrrhenian Sea coast.

After departing from Camaiore, the route first reaches Pisa and then the Livorno area, leaving the coast near Cecina: here begins the second part of the stage, slightly more undulating than the previous section, though without major difficulties. After completing the long predominantly downhill section, riders will enter the final 20 km circuit, entirely within the city with some turns requiring careful attention, to be repeated once.
On paper, this should be a stage for the sprinters, so we can expect great work from the sprint teams who won't want to miss the opportunity to project their leaders towards victory.
