On Saturday, March 8th, Mrs. Germana Baglietto passed away, the first of five sisters of Alfredo Bonariva, the well-known former professional cyclist from the 1950s/60s who, after his competitive career, became an active operator in the bicycle sector and, above all, a pioneer of female competitive cycling by creating and managing various women's cycling teams in almost pioneering times.
His five sisters, all two years younger than him, were welcome regulars who graced the stands of the Vigorelli Velodrome during its golden years, as already mentioned in an article on this site.
Mrs. Germana Bonariva, born in 1936, was married to Engineer Gian Pietro Baglietto, from the famous nautical construction family of Varazze.
Mrs. Germana is laid out at the San Siro Funeral Home on Via Amantea in Milan.
Date, time, and other details regarding the funeral will be communicated as soon as they become available.
To our friend Alfredo and all family members, our most heartfelt condolences from the editorial staff of TuttoBICI and tuttobiciweb.it
