Tadej Pogacar has, as expected, dominated the 2025 edition of the UAE Tour, updating his record numbers in the short history of this race.
- 3 overall triumphs, celebrated in 2021, 2022, and 2025. Absolute record;
- 4 total podiums, including the 2nd place in 2020. Record shared with British rider Adam Yates (who won only once);
- 15 total days in the red jersey. Absolute record: 6 days in 2021, 4 in 2022, and 5 in 2025;
- 6 stages won, one less than Belgian Tim Merlier, record holder with 7. Tadej is the only one to have scored victories in four different editions: one in 2020 and 2021, two in 2022 and 2025.
Pogacar achieved his 17th career triumph in the final classification of a stage race and signed the first 3 victories of 2025 in World Tour races, reaching the top of the relative ranking with Australian Welsford.
UAE Tour also brought great satisfaction for Italian cycling which, for the first time in 7 editions, saw one of its representatives on the final podium. Credit goes to Giulio Ciccone, who finished in second place thanks to his performance in the last stage. Our cycling movement also celebrated two stages won by Jonathan Milan, who also gave us the first World Tour victories of 2025.
The Italian sprinter was the first Italian ever to wear the red jersey and the only one in this edition to place among the top three 4 times in the 7 stages contested, results that allowed him to win the points classification.
It's worth noting that Christian Scaroni, thanks to his spectacular triple triumph in Classic Var and Tour des Alpes-Maritimes, has brought Italian seasonal successes to 8. Italy is also the nation with the highest number of top-three finishes in World Tour races so far, 7 (2 victories, 3 second places, and 2 third places).
