Decisive breakaway by Diego Uriarte in the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol, the 194-kilometer Córdoba-Alhaurín de la Torre route. The Spanish rider from Equipo Kern Pharma surprised his rivals with 1,500 meters to go and claimed a solo victory ahead of Frenchman Alan Jousseaume (Total Energies) and British rider Connor Swift from Ineos Grenadiers. For Uriarte, a 2001 Iberian from Baranain, this marks his first professional win.
The day's protagonists were fourteen riders: Scotson (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale), Arcas (Movistar), Berhe (Jayco AlUla), Swift (Ineos Grenadiers), Liepins (Q36.5 Pro Cycling), Jousseaume (Total Energies), Kyffin (Unibet Tietema Rockets), Nicolau (Caja Rural Seguros RGA), Uriarte (Equipo Kern Pharma), Anders Johannessen (Uno X Mobility), Clynhens (Flanders Baloise), Van Der Tuuk (Euskaltel Euskadi), Aparicio (Burgo Burpellet BH) and Berwick (Caja Rural Seguros RGA). The peloton, led by UAE Team Emirates XRG riders of leader Sivakov, showed a timid reaction, giving the breakaway riders free rein.
