A promising tenth place was achieved by Stefano Viezzi in the Cyclocross World Cup. The Friulian rider from Alpecin Deceuninck Development performed well in the Besancon (France) race for the Under 23 category, securing an honorable placement and entering the top ten. Viezzi finishes 1'38" behind the world champion, the Dutch rider Tibor Del Grosso, who confirms his leadership in this category, beating the Belgian Corsus by 15" and the French rider Sparfel by 24". Filippo Agostinacchio finishes in 21st place, Lorenzo Masciarelli in 23rd.
