GreenEDGE Cycling and MAAP, the high-performance cycling apparel brand from Melbourne, Australia, have announced a multi-year partnership today, bringing MAAP to the UCI WorldTour as the official technical supplier for Team Jayco AlUla, Liv AlUla Jayco, and Liv AlUla Jayco Continental Team.
Ready to turn heads in the new year, a distinctive and vibrant look for the men's and women's teams will mark the beginning of a new era for the Australian squad, preparing to embark on its 14th season in the UCI WorldTour.
MAAP's Melbourne roots bring a unique, globally inspired creative perspective to cycling, while its approach to style and design has helped change how cycling apparel is perceived, something GreenEDGE Cycling is enthusiastic about collaborating on and promoting.
Team owner Gerry Ryan is excited to collaborate with an Australian brand that has become a global leader in its field and stated: "GreenEDGE Cycling's adventure in the WorldTour as the first Australian professional cycling team has been an incredible journey, and the team has expanded in many ways. As we prepare to face our fourteenth season, we are very proud and excited to collaborate with a world-leading Australian brand, MAAP".
He adds: "The brand's drive and spirit are something that fits very well with our team culture and allows MAAP to take the WorldTour stage, something we are very proud and passionate about. Their new approach to cycling apparel will truly highlight GreenEDGE Cycling in 2025. It's a new and exciting era for both GreenEDGE Cycling and MAAP".
The 2025 kit has a distinct MAAP aesthetic and incorporates influences from the MAAP team and house in Australia and from co-title sponsor AlUla. Designed to convey a sense of movement and speed, it combines inspirations from nature, such as wind-swept sands from the Outback and AlUla desert, with influences from the professional cycling world, like blurred photo finish and wind tunnel tests.
The color palette of the kit also draws from similar inspirations. Desert night skies, AlUla sunsets, and the austral aurora are all found in the rich "Aurora" purple and intense "Midnight" blue colors. The bold "Shadow" color inserts speak to the pursuit of change and MAAP's reluctance to follow trends. Finally, a nod to GreenEDGE's long history in the professional group is found in the scattered green flashes across all logos on the kit. With Giant and Liv road bikes and helmets to match, the look is complete.
Entering the UCI WorldTour as GreenEDGE Cycling's official technical supplier marks a new bold chapter for MAAP. Leveraging its expertise in high-performance cycling apparel by providing cutting-edge performance kits and bringing its measured approach to style and design with a fresh new look for the teams.
Jarrad Smith, co-CEO and co-founder of MAAP, stated: "Since we founded MAAP a decade ago, collaborating with GreenEDGE has been a long-standing dream of ours. We are so proud to be in this position and aim to do everything possible to enable both the men's and women's teams to realize their full potential race after race, while also serving to inspire an entire new generation of riders approaching this sport".
Oliver Cousins, co-CEO and co-founder of MAAP, added: "Our collaboration with GreenEDGE perfectly aligns with our vision of advancing the sport through a new perspective on performance and design. Both brands share an unceasing drive to push boundaries, and we are excited to equip these athletes with a kit that gives them a performance advantage and a distinctive look on the world stage".
