The Treviso native, specifically from Castello di Godego, Xavier Bordignon won the 67th Trofeo della Vittoria, the classic junior race organized by Aurora on the roads of Trento. At the finish line in Via Valnigra, the Postumia team rider preceded Vicenza native Andrea Endrizzi (Città di Marostica) and Valsugana's Davide Zanei (Veloce Club Borgo). The latter was the main architect of the action that eventually broke up the group on the final climb from Trento South to Villazzano: in the last few meters, Zanei was just short of maintaining his position behind Bordignon and Endrizzi, two of the pre-race favorites who battled it out until the end.
The race involved 7 laps of the classic "Pomari" circuit, on the right bank of the Adige River, before the uphill finish. The first phase was characterized by wind and several breakaway attempts. After a surge by Jacopo Cristoforetti (Forti e Veloci), there were paired actions by Ramiro Voltolini (Borgo) and Pietro Bertacco (Sandrigo), Mirko Vicentini (Montecorona) and Thomas Demattè (Forti e Veloci), Daniele Varola (Forti e Veloci) and again Bertacco, with the group always neutralizing every attempt, while Federico Bresolin (Marostica) took the two flying sprints placed at the third and sixth passages of the false flat in Settefontane. Everything was then decided on the climb, with Zanei immediately breaking away and dragging with him the small group that would then contest the victory and podium.
