The Italian calendar continues for the Polti VisitMalta Team, ready to tackle four demanding days in Abruzzo to further refine their form ahead of the Giro d'Italia.
From tomorrow, Stefano Zanatta's men will face a route that starts softly in the Chieti area and increases in difficulty during the second stage, with the ups and downs of Aquila and Pescara leading to Penne, and especially in the third stage with the uphill finish in Roccaraso after 18 challenging kilometers. The final stage will be the longest, packed with short climbs that could provide a last precious opportunity for those seeking overall victory.
Polti VisitMalta will line up with Ludovico Crescioli, Davide De Cassan, Alex Martín, Gabriele Raccagni, Fernando Tercero, Alessandro Tonelli, and Samuele Zoccarato. A lineup capable of making a statement in the toughest contexts and being protagonists in competitive breakaways.
De Cassan: "The Abruzzo Giro presents opportunities every day that we must seize. We are prepared and motivated to perform well!"
Sports Director Zanatta: "We're facing elevation changes with few breaks. Perhaps only one sprint at the beginning, after which the queen stage will be Thursday on the Aremogna plateau. We have a complete lineup, with climbers like Tercero or Martín and many quality attackers including Tonelli and others. The level of competitors will be high, but we have the right cards to achieve a good result."
