After the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia today announces the long-awaited wild cards. The teams invited to the pink race, which will start next May 9th from Durazzo (Albania), are the Italian Polti Visit Malta and VF Group Bardiani CSF Faizanè together with the Swiss Tudor and Q36.5.
Fabian Cancellara's team thus celebrates the Giro-Tour double, after the UCI allowed grand tours to have an extra pass for teams that do not already have the right to participate in three-week races.
There is also great expectation for the debut of the Q36.5 team, which could field Tom Pidcock, already a protagonist in our country this year at the Strade Bianche, while the invitation to the two Italian teams rewards the efforts they are making to continue their journey with the aim of developing young Italian talent.
