
The countdown has begun. In 10 days, the 11th Conference of the Mapei Sport Research Center will take place. Olympic and world champions, along with doctors and trainers who have helped them become competitive again after serious injuries, will discuss the topic "Training, Recovery, and Performance: New Methodological Approaches".
The free and unmissable event for students, industry professionals, and passionate enthusiasts who have reserved their seats is set for Monday, March 24th at the Just Hotel Lomazzo in the province of Como, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The conference will cover strength training for road cyclists, omega 3 for health and performance, alpine skiing performance, asymmetries and direction changes in soccer, and resilience and re-athletization with the interesting recovery journey of Ottavia Cestonaro, who went from the operating room to fulfilling her dream of competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics after months in the Mapei Sport gym.
Trainers, doctors, and active athletes from the world of high-level sports will provide a morning filled with qualified presentations. Below is the detailed program with all speakers and participants in the unmissable roundtable, including the 2006 World Cup champion Fabio Grosso, now coach of Sassuolo Calcio, along with players Filippo Romagna and Edoardo Pieragnolo, the black and green female footballer (on loan from Roma) Cecilia Prugna, the Sassuolo captain during the team's European success and current Juventus Primavera coach Francesco Magnanelli, Olympic track cycling champion Simone Consonni with his Lidl-Trek teammate Gaia Realini, the surgeon Andrea Panzeri, who operated on alpine ski champion Sofia Goggia and other Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) athletes who regularly visit the Varese center for physical tests.
