On Saturday, March 1st, the Sogno Veneto Team participated in the first stage of the Italia Bike Cup held in Verona. This was the team's second event of the new season, and they lined up in full force at the starting grid. Although the circuit was not particularly technical, it proved to be extremely challenging: characterized by continuous short climbs and brief ascents that tested the athletes' endurance, lap after lap. Skillful navigation was a key element in maintaining high speed and making a difference on the more flowing sections.
The competition was extremely long and selective, with heats lasting an hour and a half at very high intensities. Despite the difficulty of the competition, Sogno Veneto Team athletes distinguished themselves by achieving excellent results, demonstrating commitment and determination. In the Under 23 category, Marco Betteo secured an excellent fourth place, narrowly missing the podium by just 10 seconds. Just behind him in fifth position, Martino Zavan finished with a 20" advantage over his direct pursuer.
Among the Juniors, Giovanni Zago delivered a great performance, securing a brilliant sixth place. Filippo Cavezzan, despite initial difficulties in finding the right feeling with the course, managed to conclude with a good 15th place. Among the girls in the Junior category, Sabrina Rizzi's sixth-place finish and Nicole Canzian's excellent ninth place were particularly noteworthy.
Now the Sogno Veneto Team looks forward to the next event scheduled for Saturday, March 8th in Albenga (Savona), where the club's representatives are ready to give their all.
