Scheduled for Wednesday, March 5th, the Trofeo Laigueglia will once again be the opening of the Italian cycling calendar. VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè has selected seven riders to participate in the Ligurian race: at the start is Alessandro Pinarello, the main protagonist of last year's edition won by Lenny Martinez. With him, Alex Tolio, Luca Covili, and Martin Marcellusi, the latter in excellent form after the recent Gran Camiño, where he secured a podium finish in the second stage.
Also racing is Manuele Tarozzi, a breakaway specialist who was prominent in the UAE Tour, covering hundreds of kilometers in the lead. The lineup is completed by young riders Luca Paletti and Matteo Scalco.
Sports Director Roberto Reverberi stated: "The first race in Italy is important for our team. At the start, as always, there will be both young talents and more experienced riders. We will try to defend our reputation, as we did last year. It's a prestigious race we're focusing on, and we have great confidence in our young riders, who will have the freedom to express themselves even in these important races".
On the same day, the Umag Trophy, a classic Croatian race, will take place, where many of our young riders will have the opportunity to stand out. Among them is Santiago Ferraro, making his professional debut in this race, the young rider from Cerveteri who will have his seasonal debut. The same situation applies to Edward Cruz, Martin Herreño, and Filippo Cettolin from Treviso. Also at the start is Parma sprinter Mattia Pinazzi. The lineup is completed by young neo-professional Mattia Stenico from Trento.
The Trofeo Laigueglia will be broadcast live on Eurosport 2 and Rai Sport starting at 2:15 PM.
