
After a positive start to the season, with Matteo Ambrosini's victory at Coppa San Geo and Cesare Chesini's 2nd place in Firenze-Empoli, the Team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack prepares for important international events.
It starts tomorrow with the Memorial Polese, a race held in San Michele di Piave (TV) dedicated to sprinters. Many sprinters are in its honor roll. As often happens when racing in Veneto, Flavio Miozzo will lead the team.
Racing: Lorenzo Masciarelli, Matteo Ambrosini, Christian Bagatin, Sam Quaranta, Gabriele Casalini and Luca Cretti. Last-minute forfeit for Oioli, due to fever. The competitive schedule continues on Wednesday, March 5th with the Trofeo Laigueglia, the opening race of the Italian professional calendar (live on Rai Sport and international Eurosport), and the Umag Trophy in Slovenia.
LAIGUEGLIA. In Liguria, the team will face one of the most prestigious early-season races, characterized by a challenging route and high competition level. Eight WorldTour teams will be at the start: Astana, UAE, Jayco-AlUla, Arkéa, Cofidis, Ineos, EF Education, Intermarché.
Gianluca Valoti and Rossella Di Leo will lead the team, while the selected athletes for the event are: Diego Bragalente, Luca Cretti, Cesare Chesini, Lorenzo Masciarelli, Lorenzo Nespoli, Pavel Novak, Leonardo Vesco.
A high-level experience representing an important opportunity for growth and comparison with the professional world, in line with the philosophy of the group led by Antonio Bevilacqua.
SLOVENIA. Also on March 5th, a second team group will be competing in Slovenia for the Umag Trophy, a challenging early-season classic with technical routes and high competition, featuring teams from Eastern Europe.
Flavio Miozzo will lead the team in this trip, counting on: Matteo Ambrosini, Christian Bagatin, Gabriele Casalini, Edoardo Cipollini, Matteo Fiorin, Sam Quaranta.
An opportunity to showcase themselves on an international stage and refine their condition for upcoming April events.
COPPA ITALIA DELLE REGIONI. The MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack team was a protagonist at the Chamber of Deputies during the presentation of the 2025 Coppa Italia delle Regioni, held in the prestigious Regina Hall. Representing the team, a delegation composed of Rossella and Giuseppe Dileo, together with Gianluca Valoti.
The event, organized by the Professional Cycling League with support from the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, and relevant Ministries, saw the participation of numerous institutional authorities. Present were the President of the Chamber, Lorenzo Fontana, and Ministers Andrea Abodi (Sports), Daniela Santanchè (Tourism) and Eugenia Roccella (Equal Opportunities and Family). Giorgietti and Taiani were also connected. Among the honorary guests, cycling legends such as Vincenzo Nibali, Gianni Bugno, Francesco Moser and Giuseppe Saronni.
"Being invited to such an important institutional event, in such a prestigious venue and in the presence of high-ranking state officials, was a great honor and a unique emotion for us," said Rossella Dileo.
