Finn Fisher-Black is the new New Zealand time trial champion. The 23-year-old from Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe covered the 37.4 kilometers of the Timaru course in 47 minutes and 27 seconds, relegating Aaron Gate to second place, who finished the race with a 34" deficit. Completing the podium was Tom Sexton from the Continental St George team, who came in third with a 1'20" gap from the winner.
In the women's elite category, the victory went to Kim Cadzow of EF Education-Oatly, who confirmed her national title in the discipline by completing the 24.4 kilometers in 34 minutes and 52 seconds. She beat her teammate Henrietta Christie by 54" and Ally Wollaston, winner of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and riding for Fdj Suez, by 1'03".
Other titles were won by Kirsty Watts (Women's U23), Nate Pringle (Men's U23), Harry Shannon (Juniors), and Neve Mckenzie (Junior Women).
The road races are scheduled for Friday, with the women's elite category racing 117 kilometers and the men's elite category covering 191 kilometers. Last year, the road titles were won by Ella Wyllie and Logan Currie respectively.
