Kazakh Ilkhan Dostiyev has been banned for four years following a double violation of anti-doping regulations for the presence of methoxy-polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta (CERA) in two samples collected – based on intelligence information – out of competition on July 30, 2024, and in competition on August 17, 2024, during the Turul RomanieiA few weeks earlier, the Kazakh rider had won a stage in the Giro della Valle d'Aosta and finished the race in second place in the final classification

In compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code) and UCI Anti-Doping Regulations (UCI ADR), the suspension period began on September 9, 2024.The case has been resolved with the rider's acceptance of the consequences and can therefore be considered closed in all respects.
