Despite the border closure with Colombia, foreign teams participating in the 60th edition of the Vuelta al Táchira in Venezuela have managed to enter the country thanks to the organizers' efforts. In fact, the team led by Luis Alfonso Cely (National Team), Team Saavedra, Gesprom Evolution, and the Dutch Universe Cycling Team have overcome bureaucratic obstacles and headed to San Cristóbal, the starting location of the first stage.
The prestigious Venezuelan race (the first stage race in the 2025 UCI calendar) is set to start on Sunday, January 12, with a circuit from the city of San Cristóbal to the town of Táriba. Eight stages in total, with over 100 athletes competing for the final victory. The race will conclude on January 19 in San Cristóbal after 1,182 kilometers. The last winner was Ecuadorian Jonathan Klever Caicedo from Petrolike.
