Luca Ferro, from Varese's Busto Arsizio, born in 2011 and riding for Bustese Olonia, was crowned Italian Cyclocross Champion in the second-year novice category in Follonica, Grosseto. The young athlete secured the second title for Lombardy, beating Veneto's Alberto Finetto and Friuli's Gabriele Molinari (Jam's Bike Team Buja). Despite a mechanical issue and a fall, Ferro managed to keep his cool and, once he regained the lead of the race, he broke away from Finetto and Molinari to claim a well-deserved national title.
