The 2025 season of Velo Club Sovico opened with an organizational and sporting success. On Sunday, April 6th, the athletes of the yellow-blue team won the Autorivolta Trophy - Sovico Municipality, a competition reserved for the Giovanissimi category and curated by the group of volunteers from the same Brianza Society.
More than 160 athletes battled in the races of the 6 categories on the track drawn between Via Mameli, Via Lombardia, Via Mazzini and Via Stoppani, applauded by Sovico Mayor Barbara Magni, her Vice Marco Ciceri, Councilor Alberto Rivolta and Chiara Mariani, President of the Provincial Committee of Monza and Brianza of Federciclismo and the large crowd present.
After the sporting part, the afternoon continued with the awards ceremony: Andrea Rivolta, owner of Autorivolta, handed over the Trophy reserved for the first-ranked Society to the Velo Club Sovico; Mayor Magni awarded the Sovico Municipality Trophy to Salus Seregno (second-ranked team) while Alice Nova awarded G.S. Cicli Fiorin (third-ranked) with the Trophy commemorating the figure of her father Flavio.
During the event, Velo Club Sovico wanted to remember Giorgio Bottioni and race judge Lucio Cantù, who passed away in recent months. At the end of the awards, the president Canzi, coaches and athletes of Velo Club Sovico presented the commemorative jersey of the fiftieth anniversary of the club's foundation to the Municipal Administration representatives, which the athletes of the Giovanissimi category, led by Laura Vergani and Andrea Costa, will wear throughout the 2025 season.
