The Giro d'Italia, a symbol of Italian sport and excellence, arrives at Expo 2025 Osaka, further enhancing its role as an ambassador of Sports Diplomacy worldwide, already recognized last year with a special ceremony at the Farnesina. The event, hosted inside the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, was opened and closed by interventions from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani. Participants included Matteo Zoppas, President of ICE - Agency for the Promotion Abroad and Internationalization of Italian Enterprises, Vincenzo Nibali, winner of the Corsa Rosa in 2013 and 2016, Paolo Bellino, CEO and General Manager of RCS Sports & Events, and Roberto Pella, President of the Professional Cycling League and Vice President of Anci.
The Giro d'Italia's participation, thanks to its increasingly growing internationalization, is an important vehicle for promoting Made in Italy worldwide and emphasizes the role of sports as an instrument of international dialogue and diplomacy. The Corsa Rosa, with its strong territorial roots and ability to unite people in a collective narrative, thus confirms itself as an ambassador even in a global context like Expo 2025 Osaka.
